ABOUT US

The Lighthouse Club International:

The Lighthouse Club Asia Pacific Region was established in 1998 with the objectives of promoting the establishment of further branches and good fellowship between members and branches of the Lighthouse Club and coordinating the work of charitable assistance to persons connected with the construction industry in the Asia Pacific Region comprising Asia, Australasia, the Pacific Islands, North and South America.  On 28th May 2016 the Lighthouse Club Asia Pacific Region resolved to change its name to “Lighthouse Club International” and further its objectives worldwide. This was formally adopted in a revised Constitution on 4th November 2017.

Lighthouse Club International is a non-political organisation supporting the construction industry worldwide through the promotion of good fellowship among its members and the provision of charitable assistance to distressed persons within the industry.  100% of all donations received go to helping those most in need.

Lighthouse Club Cambodia:

Lighthouse Club Cambodia was established in 2010, at a time when the Cambodian construction sector was seeing large international investments, developments and projects springing up country wide. As with all branches of the Lighthouse Club, the principal aim is to promote good fellowship in the industry and support those injured or in need within the sector. Additionally, the Lighthouse Club Cambodia has proudly sponsored more than 40 students since the club’s inception, financially supporting them throughout their education and allowing them to join the working world with a chance to develop and succeed in the construction industry.

Scholarships

Lighthouse Club Cambodia has now supported over 40 Cambodian students studying degrees relating to the construction industry.

Although we have already supported over 40 students, our work is not done yet! There are many more talented and smart individuals out there who need assistance in achieving their goals in the industry and we want to help!

If you know or are aware of anyone who requires assistance with attaining qualification or training, please download one of the form’s below and contact the Lighthouse Club Cambodia team at admin@lighthouseclubkh.com. We will do everything we can to help you throughout your application process.

Health & Safety

Safety Awards

In March 1996, at an event to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Hong Kong Branch of the Lighthouse Club, the first Lighthouse Club Safety Award was presented. This award was the result of a search for site foremen or work supervisors who, in the opinion of the Club, had made the most valuable contribution to site safety and awareness on their project. The first recipient of the award was Mr Lui You Fuk of Shinon Building Contractors. Since that day, The Lighthouse Club has bestowed that award every year to those who strive to ensure the safety and wellbeing of themselves, others and the project while working on site.

Golden Helmet Awards:

The Golden Helmet Award, established in 1999 is a series of challenges awarded to individuals in the construction industry. The award aims to provide inspiration and motivation to those on construction sites to treat Health & Safety and the potential dangers of construction as concrete issues which we know them to be. All sites have HSE requirements, but this award looks to highlight specific individuals who have gone above and beyond standard HSE protocols to help protect themselves, others, and the integrity of the site.

Awards:

The Golden Helmet: to an individual who has exemplified safety leadership within the/our industry

If you, or your organisation, can think of an individual who fits one of these descriptions and has played an important role in maintaining site safety, please contact admin@lighthouceclubkh.com to request an application form. These forms can be submitted with up to 3 pages of supporting evidence as to why your chosen individual deserves the award they were nominated for.”

Events

The events we run are the best way to meet and communicate with sponsors and donors to the Lighthouse Club. At all our events, our emphasis is on fun, to ensure that you and your clients or partners have a great time as well as raising contributions to the charity. It also allows our sponsors to see for themselves, how their contributions go to students and who they are helping to support. Putting faces to the cause is a sure way to ensure transparency with our sponsors and contributors and hopefully encourages them to re-affirm their commitment to the Lighthouse Club and the work we do here in Cambodia.

8th Annual Charity Golf Tournament

Due to delays caused by Covid-19, we unfortunately missed out on last year’s annual golf day due to restriction put in place in the Kingdom. Fortunately, we were able to complete an event in January earlier this year.

After such an historic event for the Lighthouse Club Cambodia, where we raised our highest total for the charity to date, as well as a public demand for more golf days hosted by the Lighthouse Club, we have decided to organise an additional golf day later this year.

We believe that this event now has a foothold in the Cambodian social calendar as a great day out, but also as a great opportunity for players, many of whom work in the construction sector, to engage with a charity close to their industry.

Sponsor a Student

If you would like to sponsor a student, the Lighthouse Club Cambodia provides options to do just that. We have attached here a breakdown of our costs to send one student, studying a construction related degree, to university for one year. These costs also include a living allowance which we pay to students monthly to support them with their studies, purchasing equipment and other educational resources.

A one-off donation could be instrumental in providing these students with the resources they need to complete their education.
